8 Mar 2012: "Many who have done it considered [the track] comparable to a Great Walk. I'd agree - of the walks I've done so far, this surpasses the Lake Waikaremoana and Stewart Island hikes in terms of pure scenery and variety. Each day was very different and scenic in it's own right....there was finally the sense of remoteness I had been craving on the South Island...I do hope the track continues to gather good word of mouth - it's a wonderful time and well worth rewarding the community that spent 12 years building it into something to be very proud of." 2 Mar 2012: "Our experience of walking the track was fantastic, really a 'little piece of paradise for 3 days'...We also like to commend everyone involved in maintaining and running the track business, the lodge managers Michelle and Noeline were great and made us feel very welcome, also Ali for his enthusiasm, organising and dedication. This track will become one of the 'Great Tracks'." Ina and Gerry, Holland
19 Jan 2012: "I was just looking at some old pictures from my trip to NZ and I had to write to tell you that I still think about the BEAUTIFUL Hump Ridge track even 5 years later!! The views were inspiring. From where I am standing in the picture I could see mountains, glacier, ocean, forest - something breathtaking in every direction!! I also remember getting my feet soaked trying to get a good picture of the Hectors dolphins playing in the waves (I didn't get one, but I do have the memory). It's something that I'll always remember and I've encouraged everyone who will listen to visit! I had to share how much I loved the track, the scenery, the history - just everything!!!" Kate, Prince Edward Island, Canada
16 April 2011: "It's two weeks since I walked the track. It was a fantastic experience, the scenery, the Lodges, the people, everything about the place made me proud to be a Kiwi. I just want to thank everyone involved and especially Liz at Okaka and Ali at Port Craig. Both were wonderful hosts. I am singing the praises of the Track and all involved to anyone who will listen. More Kiwis should get off their backsides and experience this special place. I have been to many countries in the world and seen many great things: this is right up there with the best of them." Ross Aiken, Waipiata
26 Nov 2011: "We had the most amazing time during our hike on the Hump Ridge Track. The initiative of all the local people creating this wonderful track is inspiring and we hope to be back one day soon to do more hikes in this region. This is ideal for all the people that are interested in stepping OFF the tourist beaten track and experience real NZ nature, NZ people and NZ hospitality! Loved every moment of it! Many many thanks!" Sabine Steiner
23 Nov 2011: "I was with a group of four and we all enjoyed our weekend on the Hump Ridge. It is tough to pick a highlight: was it the clearing of the mist on the second morning allowing us to do the tors and tarns loop track before we set off downhill: or was it the genuine warmth from all your staff and volunteers that greeted us at HQ and in the huts: or the beer we were able to buy at the end of a tough day....No..... for me it was undoubtedly the desert on day one, a huge slab of chocolate cake with all the trimmings (on a tramp!!) Cheers guys it was a truely great weekend." Jim - participant on Locals Challenge 2011

12 April 2010: "Our party of six have just completed your walk, we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience (even if the track was more like a river on day 2). Your lodges were of a very high standard and the lodge managers were very professional and very very friendly and helpful. The track was muddy, wet and steep in places, but hey this is not a walk in the park. I think this will be a walk that will stick in our memories for a very long time. Thanks again for a great experience. Cheers"
10 March 2010: "My name is Ruud. I have seen quite a bit of this planet of ours - in fact I'm pretty spoiled, really. But when a day like today comes along, everything changes. Everything comes back to basics and one word comes to mind that describes this part of Aotearoa and the people that run Humpridge, its facilities and everything associated... that word is RESPECT! I love it!" Ruud Kleinpaste, NZ Gardener
