The Tuatapere Hump Ridge Track is open during most of the winter months. This can be a great time to walk and enjoy clear crisp days and blue skies.
You will need to watch the weather reports and ensure you have plenty of thermal/merino and waterproof clothing: we are situated on the very edge of the South Island and the Antarctic weather can blow in at a moment's notice.
Note: Your first night will be at Okaka ($25 per person) and your second night will be in the DOC Hut at Port Craig. You will need to purchase a DOC Hut pass or carry a DOC season pass for the second Port Craig stay.
