What you need to know before Booking

In preparation for you to walk the Tuatapere Hump Ridge Track, you need to be in Tuatapere the day before you start your walk. Please be at the Track Office,  31 Orawia Road, between 3.00pm to  5.30pm, for about 15minutes, to receive

  • Track Briefing and saftey talk
  • Collect a detailed map
  • Collect Lodge passes
  • Collect any accommodation vouchers
  • Co-ordinate transport and heli packing etc

This is complusory. Please ensure when booking flights and other travel plans you allow for this.

Ensure you see what facilities and services are available and at what time, by checking with the schedule of our season on Seasons Dates page.

Select which Package you require and any additional extras or upgrades. If you are booking Helicopter services as an extra please check the Helicopter Calendar for availability on your required date. We can add extra dates if you have a group of 8 or more, please contact us.

Once we have received your booking request we will forward you an invoice via email.
Payment must be made before your booking is confirmed.
Please follow the payment instructions at the bottom of the invoice. Payment can be made by Direct Credit within NZ or by Credit Card
Sorry, we cannot accept Amercian Express.
Once payment has been received we will forward a booking confirmation via e-mail.

Please check our What to Bring page for a full list of required clothing and equipment. And yes, regardless of the time of year, you will need to have thermal and waterproof clothing with you. Please note due to fire safety candles are NOT allowed.

We recommend you leave Tuatapere for the start of your walk by 7.30am. Track transport will commence with accommodation pickups at this time before heading to the start of the Track at Rarakau.

Once you have completed your walk and returned to Tuatapere you must "sign out" by checking in at the office and handing back in your yellow accommodation pass.
